Global Warming not true in Iceland?

Drangjökull Glacier is not shrinking like it should be in times of global warming. That is a strong indication that the theory about global warming is a bit off the mark.

The theory has been shot down in a controversial documentary called The Great Global Warming Swindle. The film was shown on Channel 4 in the UK and has been attacked heavily by those who believe in Global Warming. The key word in the last sentence is “believe”. There are proofs, there are disproofs and no proofs. Its a mess, but what we do know is that many promote the idea for various reasons.

The main reasons are to stop pollution, that is good. Another one is to earn a living. The science community has gained a lot of funding from this theory.

The interesting social tool of music lyrics comes in handy sometimes. The Clash wrote this in the late 1970´s

London Callig Chorus
The ice age is coming, the sun is zooming in
Engines stop running and the wheat is growing thin
A nuclear error, but I have no fear
London is drowning-and I live by the river

This is a classical social mirror of the times. We lived in a nuclear age at that time, but then the ice age was also on its way. Then someone turned it around and if you say today that you don’t believe in Global Warming you are called names and ridiculed.

Now the glacier Dangjökull is getting bigger. The National Energy Authority of Iceland in partnership with the United States Geological Survey they are mapping out the glacier. It turns out that the glacier is getting bigger. Many reasons are believed to for this. The glacier is all under 1000 meters in height, and the weather system is a bit different from other parts of the country. Other glaciers in Iceland and in Europe have in fact shrunk a little.  Could this be a change in climate or in the belief systems of the general public? Could this just be a normal phenomenon like the glaciers who shrink and grow all the time?
